New court supports Chongqing’s opening-up

The Liangjiang New Area People’s Court in Chongqing, also called the People’s Court of China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone, was launched on Dec 24.
The first trials of commercial cases related to matters such as investment, trade and finance will be handled by the newly established court. The first trials of intellectual property-related civil cases involving less than five million yuan ($726,966) within the jurisdiction of the First Intermediate People’s Court of Chongqing and the first trials of foreign-related commercial cases involving less than 10 million yuan that arise in the city will be accepted by the court. The First Intermediate People’s Court of Chongqing is the appellate court.
